WTA Stuttgart Open Best Bets Including Swiatek vs Fett

The WTA Stuttgart Open Round of 16 is underway, and the card is stacked with quality matches. Not only is Iga Swiatek versus Jana Fett the featured match, but the Andreeva sisters will find themselves opposite one another for only the second time ever in their careers. How do you think I did with my bets? Let me know in the comments below, as ever.

WTA Stuttgart Open Round of 16

Fett – Swiatek: Time 17:00

H2H: 0-1

Iga Swiatek and Jana Fett collide for only the second time at Stuttgart. Their previous meeting occurred at Wimbledon in 2022, in which Swiatek took the match in straight sets. While Swiatek is coming off a loss to a sizeable underdog in Alexandra Eala at Miami, she should be more than ready to avoid such a fate again in Germany. For her part, Fett is entering the match on a 4-1 winning streak, but her record over the last ten matches is much less impressive at 5-5.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Swiatek as a monumental favorite, and I agree. The only people who should be betting on Fett at 25.70 are people who are more than fine with whatever they’re betting being flushed down the toilet. So long as you place the bet expecting to lose, then go ahead and take the extreme flier on Fett. Should you bet $100, you’re leaving with $2,570 should the upset occur.

That being said, Fett winning is a value bet for sure.

Mertens – Shnaider: Time 20:00

H2H: 1-0

Elise Mertens and Diana Shnaider have only met once before Stuttgart, and that match took place in Monterrey back in 2023. Mertens took the match in straight sets. She enters the match playing some extremely streaky tennis. She’s 5-5 in her last ten and quite literally trades wins for losses. Shnaider has the same record in nearly the same order, but she managed to lose back-to-back at Indian Wells and then Miami to throw her order ever so slightly off.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Mertens as a favorite in this match, and I don’t disagree. The good thing here is that you can make money off of either lady, should your bet cash out. Shnaider is about 2.19 and Mertens is 1.8, so you can even make decent money betting on the favorite. Use caution no matter how you approach this, as either lady seems perfectly capable of losing this match.

That being said,  Mertens winning is a value bet for sure.

Andreeva –  Andreeva: Time 12:30

H2H: 0-1

Sister versus sister matches are one of the best parts of the WTA tournament. It seems odd that the Andreeva sisters have only met once before, but that’s the reality. Mirra Andreeva is playing spectacularly lately, going 9-1 in her last ten matches. That also includes a tournament victory at Indian Wells, where she beat Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka in back-to-back matches to close out the tournament, and another tournament victory at Dubai immediately prior. Though Erika Andreeva has the only victory in the series back in 2024, she’s 3-7 in her last ten.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Mirra Andreeva as the favorite, and I completely agree. Not only is she playing her best tennis right now, but she has two tournament victories in her last three attempts, while her sister has three total wins in her last ten. There’s decent value to be had should Erika pull off the upset, however. She’s sitting at 6.5 on several sites, and it’s not like her victory over Mirra came so long ago that you could call it ancient history. It was only last October. Erika knows she can beat Mirra, and you stand to make some solid money if she does.

That being said, E. Andreeva to win is a value bet for sure.
