The main building at Bolus Trucking Parts in Throop was destroyed early Wednesday.
THROOP, Pa. — A massive blaze that burned down the headquarters of a Lackawanna County equipment business Wednesday caused too much damage for investigators to pin down a cause, a state police fire said.
Fire sparked at Bolus Trucking Parts in Throop just before 3 a.m. and quickly consumed the Sanderson Street building. The Mid Valley School District, less than a mile away, issued a 2-hour delay. The blaze also knocked out power to the surrounding area.Â
Business owner Bob Bolus said the building was his main headquarters and contained more than $1 million worth of equipment, including forklifts, wreckers, truck parts and towing equipment.
The building was under renovation and had no gas service, Bolus said.
Trooper Jeffrey F. Mills, a state police fire marshal, said in a statement that the building and its contents are deemed a total loss.
State police said they do not yet know what caused the fire because of the extend of the damage. However, the fire remains under investigation.
