STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (27-3, 17-0 BIG EAST) hosts Marquette (20-8, 12-5) in the Huskies’ regular season finale in a sold-out Gampel Pavilion on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).
The Huskies will honor Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen, Azzi Fudd and Aubrey Griffin in a Senior Day ceremony after the game. The ceremony will air on FS1 and on the UConn women’s basketball team’s Facebook and X pages.
UConn will also honor senior managers Rocco DeSantes, Alexander Salberg, Nathan Yamoah, Julia Lindwall, Annabel Molina and Josephine Switzer.
Every fan in attendance at the game will receive a rally towel courtesy of Madison Reed.
Since Griffin arrived on campus in 2019, the Huskies have compiled a 178-26 overall record. UConn has won 10 conference championships and competed in four NCAA Tournaments, including three Final Fours and a National Championship game appearance.
UConn clinched the BIG EAST regular season title with a 72-53 win over No. 22 Creighton on Thursday. Freshman Sarah Strong led the Huskies with 22 points and nine rebounds vs. the Bluejays. UConn scored 23 points off turnovers vs. Creighton.
UConn will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s BIG EAST Tournament. The Huskies have won 31 regular season conference titles, including 24 as members of the BIG EAST. UConn has won 12 straight regular season titles.
UConn is 21-1 all-time vs. Marquette. The teams last played on Jan. 1 in Milwaukee. Freshman Sarah Strong had 15 points to lead the Huskies to a 77-45 win.
Marquette is coming off a 62-37 win vs. Xavier last Thursday. This season, Skylar Forbes leads Marquette with 15.2 points per game. Head coach Cara Consuegra is in her first season at Marquette.
