NEW THIS MORNING — CREWS IN LAKE PLACID HAVE PUT áOUT A FIRE AT THE WHITEFACE LODGE. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO. THIS WAS THE SCENE WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, JUST AFTER 8 LAST NIGHT. THE HOTEL WAS EVACUATED. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS INJURED… AND THE FIRE WAS MOSTLY CONTAINED TO THE CHIMNEY. BUT THE LAKE PLACID FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS US… A FEW ROOMS WERE DAMAGED. THE WHITEFACE LODGE WAS BUILT 20 YEARS AGO… AND HAS GOTTEN NATIONAL RECOGNITION AS ONE OF THE BEST MOUNTAIN RESORTS

The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid was evacuated Wednesday while multiple crews responded to a fire at the property.The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department said that the call came in around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Crews from multiple departments responded. The Lake Placid Fire Department was cleared around 1 a.m. Officials said no injuries were reported. According to the fire department, the fire was mostly contained to the chimney, but a few rooms had minor damage.
