TERRIER TIDBITS

  • In Wednesday’s 87-65 home win over Navy, graduate student Miles Brewster tallied a career-high 25 points to become the fourth Terrier to reach 20+ points this season, joining sophomore Kyrone Alexander (3x), freshman Azmar Abdullah (2x) and sophomore Michael McNair.
  • By hitting a career-high five 3-pointers, Brewster increased his scoring average to 10.0 ppg. Alexander remains the team leader at 12.8 ppg with McNair second at 10.6 ppg.
  • One of 11 Terriers to score in double digits and one of six to average at least 3.9 rpg, senior Malcolm Chimezie leads BU at 5.3 rpg with 18 blocks.
  • The Terriers are 12-5 when out-rebounding opponents and are 0-6 when finishing behind.
  • BU is averaging 67.0 ppg and 44.1 FG% while holding opponents to 67.5 ppg and 44.3 FG%. The Terriers though have seen their offensive numbers drop on the road to 58.0 ppg and 40.0 FG% for a 2-9 record.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS

  • The Crusaders are 5-4 at home compared to their 4-9 mark away from the Hart Center with a 68-67 win over Harvard and 69-56 loss to Central Connecticut State.
  • In PL play, HC owns a sweep over Loyola Maryland along with a 70-59 home win vs. Navy though has dropped the last contests to Lehigh (69-67), Army West Point (76-71) and American (74-65).
  • Three Crusaders are averaging double figures in points with Max Green leading the way at 14.3 ppg and 3.6 apg. Joe Nugent is second at 12.3 ppg while just behind Green (5.6 rpg) at 5.5 rpg.
  • Caleb Kenney is averaging 11.4 ppg and has combined with Jaiden Feroah for 39 blocks. Feroah leads HC in rebounding at 5.7 rpg.
  • HC is averaging 69.4 ppg and 45.6 FG% with 38.3 3FG%, while holding opponents to 71.9 ppg, 45.6 FG% and 32.3 3FG%.

SERIES HISTORY

  • The Crusaders lead the all-time series, 61-29, in a rivalry that dates back to 1902-03.
  • Back on Jan. 27, BU won its second consecutive meeting with HC at Case Gym, 69-59, thanks in part to a 43-29 advantage in rebounds that led to a 16-8 lead in second-chance points. Alexander led BU with 15 points, while Chimezie was one of three with at least seven rebounds apiece at 10 boards.
  • In the last two contests at the Hart Center, the Crusaders have won by two points apiece with a 65-63 decision in 2024 and 71-69 buzzer-beating victory in 2023.
  • They have yet to meet in a Patriot League tournament game after BU won the 1983 ECAC North title vs. HC with Northeastern’s Matthews Arena serving as host.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Remaining on the road, BU will visit Bucknell Wednesday (Feb. 12) with another opportunity for a sweep starting at 7 p.m.
  • The Terriers pulled out an OT thriller at home, 85-82, back on Jan. 25.
