This afternoon ends a five-game homestand for the New Jersey Devils. It is also their last game within the division until the playoffs. It begins a three-game-in-four-night stretch that ends their regular season. It is against the lesser of two evils from across the Hudson River: the New York Islanders. It is also on national television.
The Time: 1:00 PM ET
The Broadcast: TV: TNT; Streaming: MAX; Audio: Devils Hockey Radio
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the New York Islanders
The Song of the Afternoon: Real deal hardcore from Long Island is still being made. Leading the charge over the past few years is Pain of Truth. A fantastic band name with the right blend of heaviness and straight-forwardness without being outright thick-as-a-brick. On their recent Coast to Coast split with Sunami, they actually cut a song that is clean enough to reference on this site (and good enough to blow Sunami out of the water on the split): “The Enemy.” There’s indeed nothing harder than the Pain of Truth.
The Rules: The rules remain the same as the Devils are hosting an Islanders team that remains far more preferable than New York City’s other team. Please keep your language clean (this means no swearing, don’t mask it, it’s not enough, no swearing), respect your fellow Devils fan with no personal attacks (play nice or you will not play here), no illegal streams (this means no asking, no hints, no nothing about it), and please keep your comments relevant to this game. Go Devils!
