For those who play against Fiorentina it is now a habit. The controversy over the few tickets in the away section is nothing new. The 300 tickets that the Viola club makes available in the ‘Formaggino’ by regulation are not enough for almost anyone. And so today there will not even be the Empoli ultras following D’Aversa’s team, after the long list of fans who have given up on following their favorites to Florence.
“We will not be present because we believe the number of tickets available to us is insufficient. In order not to leave anyone behind, we have reluctantly taken this decision”. This is the message spread by the organized blue fans. Someone will certainly be present, but the ‘battle’ in the stands with chants and jeers will not take place.
The social one, on the other hand, is moving forward at full speed, with the two ‘factions’ hoping to trip up their rivals and make them fail to achieve their seasonal objective: the race for Europe on one side and safety on the other, with Empoli looking for victory at the Franchi after eighteen games of abstinence (last success in the championship on December 8 in Verona). Over 20.000 Viola fans are expected in the stands, with the number possibly increasing slightly in the morning and close to the match.
