The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. at TQL Stadium against the New York Red Bulls, who were the runner-ups in last year’s MLS Cup.This will be the team’s first season since 2020 without MVP and star player Luciano “Lucho” Acosta. Now, newly acquired Brazilian midfielder Evander da Silva Ferreira, formerly of the Portland Timbers, will take his place.In addition, Togolese forward Kévin Denkey was also recruited by the team during the offseason for a league-wide record sum of money, providing yet another boost to the team’s already incredibly high-powered offense.Also on the front lines, after staging lengthy practice holdouts during the offseason, star forwards Yuya Kubo and Luca Orellano could also potentially be seeing their return to the field. Orellano recently signed an extension with the team that will last until 2029.
