Actor James Marsden spotted singing ‘Piano Man’ at Austin karaoke bar Ego’s

Actor James Marsden was spotted breaking into song at Austin karaoke bar Ego’s on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old star, known for his roles in “27 Dresses” (2008) and “The Notebook” (2004), joined a friend onstage for a duet of Billy Joel’s 1973 hit “Piano Man.” Marsden got down on one knee, waved the mic stand around and pretended to hit invisible keys before proclaiming, “Let me have a piano!”

The star previously bought a home in the Commons Ford area of Austin back in 2022. In late 2020, he mentioned his move to Austin and described the city as having a “small-town feel” on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”

A video of Marsden doing karaoke at Ego’s hit social media, with commenters wishing they could have caught a glimpse for themselves. One user wrote, “Omg I wish he did Bennie & the Jets like in 27 Dresses.” Another commenter referenced his role in “Hairspray” (2007) with, “Corny Collins is singing again!!”

The TikTok poster also commented, “later on him and his friend did ‘Shallow’ (Bradly Cooper and Lady Gaga) my phone died so I wasn’t able to record it.”

The post is currently sitting at 4,593 likes, 159 saves and 1,078 shares. What a treat it would have been to see Cyclops from “X-Men” sing a song from “A Star is Born!”
