I’ve always been big into learning; not only different methods but different points of views for the sake of trying to understand current events as well as what was happening around us and also influencing us from one day to the next. That is what started me on my political journey in my early 20’s, getting up before 5am to watch Rush Limbaugh on tv every morning, which over the years led me to the present day, the Bongino Show.
I’ve listened to as well as watched pretty much anything local here in Mississippi. I’ve extended out from there to include, over time, even radio hosts from surrounding states (you know the ones I mean). That being said, sometimes there are a couple that, for sometimes personal reasons or political, we find ourselves gravitating towards and look forward to listening to each time they hit the airways as we drive from place to place, doing our pony deliveries, checking on work orders or inside a shop turning up the radio to try to hear the conversation in between cutting boards on the table saw. Well, Daniel Bongino has been that for me.
Here in Mississippi, we have our share of hosts to pick from but only a few stand out. Daniel would be the main one that not only I look forward to listening to, but extend my listening effort, like so many in the state, to platforms such as Rumble and even back in the day on YouTube. He has now been selected once again to a higher office as the Deputy Director of the F.B.I. with director Kash Patel to serve, once again, our country. It’s not surprising given his service to both a Democrat and Republican Presidents. He has proven time and again how much he truly is not only one of the best podcasters as well as radio host, drawing more than 8.5 million listeners/viewers as we shouldn’t forget him hosting ‘Unfiltered with Dan Bongino’ on Fox until April 2023.
To some he has been a true source of rage and frustration with his providing receipts for every single point he ever makes, showing his excellence in broadcasting, and with his producer Jim making sure the ‘dark web’ research that he brings to the show is always next level. He leaves the viewer and listener feeling, unlike most news media and outlets, that this is information that you can verify yourself as well as trust. We shouldn’t be surprised with his bachelors and master’s in psychology that he would get it right. Like when Cumulus Media signed him to replace the Rush Limbaugh show in March of 2021.
Suffice it to say, love him or hate him, he will definitely leave a void that he has been filling for so long now, and I for one will miss him, but am glad he will be taking a helm in Washington for us Mississippians.
I would also be in remiss if I didn’t mention one of our greats here in the state that we will forever miss and won’t be able to replace but will strive to carry his vision on for our state. Paul Gallo will be missed by so many of us as he was definitely a strong voice for this state that he loved so much. He not only took on every aspect of the radio business but succeeded where so many have been lacking and will always be remembered as a powerhouse in his own right and this state.
I’ll close this by saying a heartfelt goodbye to both Paul Gallo and Daniel Bongino in the media world but just know Mr. Gallo will be looking over us from up above, while Daniel Bongino will be watching over us not only here in Mississippi but the country as a whole. I think we should all be grateful we were able to have both of them in some way in our lives.
Mississippians are lucky in so many ways no matter your outlook. The south has always had a special way with people. You like these two, make this state great.
