Winter weather forced Texas DPS to close driver license offices across the state.
TEXAS, USA — Texas was hit with winter weather in the central and southeastern portions of the state, which has caused numerous Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) driver license office locations to close.
Texas DPS said the customers affected by these closures are being notified and their appointments will be honored at the customer’s convenience.
Here is a list of the Texas DPS driver license offices that are closed on Jan. 21 due to inclement weather:

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) – which handles vehicle registration and titling – also announced some office closures. Here is a list of those, according to a TxDMV spokesperson:
- TxDMV Austin Regional Service Center
- TxDMV Beaumont Regional Service Center
- TxDMV Houston Regional Service Center
- TxDMV San Antonio Regional Service Center
- TxDMV Corpus Christi Regional Service Center opens at noon.
All other TxDMV regional service centers are open, as of 9:15 a.m.
