Jaguars draft Bhayshul Tuten with 4th-round pick: Fit, scouting report

play

The Jacksonville Jaguars enter Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft with many options and selections.

With their first pick in the fourth round (No. 104 via Cleveland), the Jaguars selected running back Bhayshul Tuten out of Virginia Tech.

The Jaguars set the bar high during the first round, trading up from the fifth-overall pick to second-overall, ultimately selecting Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

Jacksonville gave up its second-round pick (No. 36) as part of a package to ultimately acquire Hunter. The Jaguars later traded down with the Detroit Lions from pick No. 70 in the third round to pick No. 88 before trading back up with the Houston Texans to pick No. 89.

The Jaguars selected defensive back Caleb Ransaw with the 88th-overall pick and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum with the 89th-overall pick.

How does Bhyshul Tuten fit with the Jaguars?

Tuten will fit nicely with the Jaguars alongside running backs Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby. Etienne is entering the last year of his rookie deal on the fifth-year option and Bigsby has two years remaining after being drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville’s rushing attack was disappointing last year, totalling just 101.7 rushing yards per game (25th in the league). Tuten can revitalize the room, adding elite speed to the offense alongside Brian Thomas Jr.’s 4.33s 40-yard dash a year ago.

Bhayshul Tuten highlights, stats

After spending two years at North Carolina A&T, Tuten transferred to Virginia Tech for the last two years of his collegiate career. He rushed for 2,022 yards and 25 touchdowns through 24 games with the Hokies.

Bhayshul Tuten scouting report

Tuten entered the NFL Draft as the fastest running back to run the 40-yard dash during the pre-draft process. He posted a 4.32s 40-yard dash.

His relative athletic score (RAS) ranked 9.24 out of a possible 10.00, ranking 147th out of 1,909 running backs from 1987 to 2025. Tuten jumped 40.5 inches in the vertical jump at the Combine.
