HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police are asking for tips to help them find the suspect in an attempted armed robbery in Waikele.
According to police, on April 8, at around 12:30 p.m., a man walked up to the RRR Recycling Center at Waikele Outlets with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol with a silver barrel tip, and demanded money from the employees.
Police said employees at the center refused to hand any money over, and the suspect fled toward the H-1 Freeway by jumping a fence.
He left the recycling center empty-handed, police said.
HPD said the suspect is described as a man between 20 to 30 years old, roughly 5 feet 6 inches tall, and about 140 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a black Nike hoodie, white pants, red athletic shoes, and a white face mask.
